The SeaScape Project is so called because it captures the image of one looking out as far as possible across the surface of the ocean. No matter how far the human eye can see, there is no barrier within view.
Within this image, Seascape is also an ideal of intellectual freedom. It is the idea of innocence that children have when they are born and raised in an environment which allows innocence to thrive and the mind to progress unhindered. When one stands on a beach and looks across the ocean, there are no walls, no barriers, nothing to hinder sight for as far as the eye can see. In the same vision, children have no such barrier within themselves until their barriers are pushed in from the outside. They can see wonder in even the simplest facets of nature.
The SeaScape Project is created with the idea of bringing all children in the INADANI area to see a concert for free, to experience playing the taiko for free, and to feel the wonder of music and sound. This is one way to increase artistic awareness and worth (merit) in youth so that when they grow up, they will have a stronger desire to either participate in the arts, or to promote the arts on the national economic level...or both.
In addition, often parents who have more than one or two children may not have the available finances to bring the whole family to a world-class concert. This project also focuses on these families who will be able to see these concerts for free with their children.
This project will include one intensive workshop course, two concerts, one youth workshop, and many school performances over two weeks.
