Kazakoshi Weekly Taiko Classes
Now you can learn taiko with Tokara from anywhere in the world.
TOKARA - Online Taiko Courses from Iida City, Japan.
Start your journey through the wonderful world of taiko drumming with Japan-based taiko group - Tokara.
This class starts in Season One at the very beginning with basics including stance, grip, different styles of hitting different types of drums.
Starting in Season Two, we progress through drills and pieces both traditional and made by Tokara.
All drills and pieces are accompanied by notation, and there are a variety of materials available to students of this class.
Progression follows the same course outlines as Art Lee's taiko classes in Iida City, Japan.
Joining at anytime is welcome (Season 2 without Season 1 is ok).
**It is ok to join anytime during the course.
Joining a season will give a Season Pass for all previous videos of that season***

Cost
5,000yen - per person (per month - paid as one season)
Includes:
- Participation in online live training session with Tokara.
(for those who cannot join the live sessions, there will be weekly recorded sessions)
- Notation which covers the parts learned in the workshop.
Taught by: Art Lee and Yukari Ichise
This course is taught live via Zoom sessions. In addition, all sessions are recorded and can be accessed
for up to one week afterwards via private password-protected website.
This way, you can access any part of the course even if you are unable to join the live sessions and/or wish to review any details at your own pace.
For each course, you will need:
- Zoom account (100% free and accessible through PC, smartphone, tablet)
- Taiko Bachi (or anything which you can use as drumsticks)
- Drum (or anything which you can play...drumpad, cushion, box, phonebook, etc.
1. Sessions are between 60-90 minutes depending on the course.
2. Each session for learning new compositions also include two types of written notation.
